Communication is very important for humanity. It is a part of our lives. But it wasn’t always like this. In the past, we could not communicate with each other.

It all started when the people learned how to talk. It was a long time ago, but that was only the short range communication. Humanity did not have a solution for long-range communication yet. In 1844, when Samuel Morse made the first telegraph, people could send messages to each other despite being very far away. They had to use special alphabet called Morse code. 32 years later, Alexander Bell invented the first telephone. That was a revolution in the history of communication.

Nowadays, we usually talk to each other via internet. For that, we use different applications on our smart phones like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Snapchat and Viber and we have internet everywhere because of fourth generation of mobile phone technology.

Modern technology has a lot of advantages. If you have an accident, you just call 112 and emergency medical service team comes immediately and saves your life. If there is something you do not know, you just ask Google and you get an answer in less than a second.

Of course nowadays technology has some disadvantages, too. We are out in nature a lot less and we spend more and more time in our room with a smartphone in our hands. We do not often visit friends, we just text them, but it seems to me that technology does not have a major impact on the relationships between family members.

I think that long-range communication will become even more accessible in the future, especially in less developed countries but we can never know, so let us be surprised.
